[Bug] OpenRA phpBB registration is impossible.

At ⪅ 2026-02-22T20:22:40+00:00, I downloaded the OpenRA Dune 200 Flatpak, for the first time. As its interface advises, I attempted to register at forum.openra.net/ucp.php?mode=register, to acquire a username. I entered:

The first time I attempted to submit that form, I observed:

No soup for you! It looks like you have been flagged as a spammer.

Thinking that this might be due to my e-mail address, I replaced it with RokeJulianLockhart+OpenRA@PM.me. However, upon submission of that, I observed:

You have been banned from this board until Mon Feb 23, 2026 8:21 pm.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

Reason given for ban: Found in the Stop Forum Spam database 255 times

A ban has been issued on your IP address.

That seems absurd — I'm a very normal person, so I don't see how I could be there 255 times. Should I contact you about this (like I have), or go directly to them? The hyperlink applied to that “Board Administrator” is for a no-response address, hence my confusion.

The forum uses https://www.stopforumspam.com/ to automatically block ips associated with spammers. I imagine you must either be using tor or a free vpn for your ip to be matching against so many records.

@pchote, I don't utilise tor, except to connect to .onion domains. Consequently, I thought that I might have had ProtonVPN accidentally active, so I retried. However, I've just been banned for another day, in exactly the same manner. I'm not sure what I can do; if I would be blocked with a VPN (and tor), yet also blocked without, I don't understand how anyone registers.

Can I provide any diagnostic information to assist?

That's a shame, because I had something similar occur just once before (back in 2025-01), yet when I attempted to contact them, I was prevented, with:

Account details blacklisted. Your details have been found in our database and thus are not allowed to register. This incident has been reported.

I don't understand why they believe this, because github.com/search?q=repo%3Astopforumspam%2Fdisposable_email_domains%20addy&type=code lacks my e-mail domain. They appear to be a uniquely problematic spam protection organisation.
