Description
Summary
Currently, clicking a candidate in the Mapper immediately saves the mapping with no opportunity for the user to edit it first. This is a significant workflow gap — particularly for ICD-11 post-coordinated codes where the AI agent may return extension codes that are too specific or incorrect, and the user needs to trim or adjust the code before accepting it.
Use Case
- User reviews AI-suggested ICD-11 post-coordinated candidate (e.g., a STEM code + bone extension)
- The base STEM code is correct but the extension is unnecessary or wrong
- User has no way to modify the candidate before saving — clicking maps it as-is
Proposed Behavior
Before a candidate mapping is confirmed/saved, provide a workflow step (e.g., an edit modal or inline edit) where the user can:
- Modify the code/concept being mapped to
- Remove or adjust extension codes on post-coordinated candidates
- Confirm the edited mapping before it is persisted
