Search not sorting by frequency of use #2281

@David-Hari

Description

@David-Hari

Describe the bug

I have set "Track frequency of use" in the search box settings, yet it still appears to be sorting alphabetically.

I tried the things mentioned in #2263 but it didn't help.
Here is my log file: StartMenuLog

Area of issue

Start menu

To reproduce

  1. In the search box, start typing a few letters. Observe that the results are sorted alphabetically.
  2. Click on the second of third result to open that program. Do this a few times to make sure it is more frequent than the others.
  3. Do the same search again. Observe that the results are still sorted alphabetically

For example, when I type "be" I get:

  • BeamNG.drive
  • Beyond Compare
  • Beyond Sunset

Expected behavior

In my example above, I would expect "Beyond Compare" to be the first one as I use it by far the most out of those 3.

Open-Shell version

4.4.196

Windows version

Windows 10 22H2 (build 19045.6159)

Additional context

I remember this used to work, but it has been broken on my home PC for some time now. I'm not sure if it's a bug or just a misconfiguration.
