The idea of Dark Document is great and I love it. However when using it with Spreadsheets I have noticed a problem. It seems to generally apply by inverting the brightness value of the cells color values. This might seems like a good solution at first but it has gotchas:
- When I set up a conditional formatting rule for a cell and pick a specific color, the actual color that I end up with is brightness inverted.
- The same thing happens when I specifically pick a color for a cell directly. For example, I set B1 cell to foreground to RGB(49,0,49) and A1 background RGB(0,49,16) and it is displayed as foreground RGB(255,219,255) background RGB(219,255,231).
If the user selects a specific color, they have an expectation that they will get that color.
