1. added a configuration option to enable/disable the StepUp information messages when joining a world. NOTE: This does not disable StepUp status change messages when pressing the associated key. Have added a .gitignore file.

Added a configuration option to enable/disable the StepUp information messages when joining a world.
NOTE: This does not disable StepUp status change messages when pressing the associated key.
This should address the two open issues #5 and #11.
