I wanted to clean up and finalize an old pull request by adding tests to a very old fix: Nethermind PR #4567, so we can merge it.
This PR is relevant only for the pre-merge networks. If a node is in snapsync and a block is discovered, it could cause trie exceptions and problems with sync.
