Ideation about next major

Just some notes about what we have discussed so far; will deliberate later
 
* In 1.0 we preferred to adopt `lit-html` for templating
* In 2.0 we introduced an integrated template engine, but kept support for adopting `lit-html`
* In 3.0 we could consider removing support for pluggable template engines
