Need to be able to get some logging information about timing

Ideally we need to have some logging available about how long things take so we can optimise things in the future.
To that end, we need logging.info to time at least the b-tree reads, and obtaining a full set of attributes. At the same time it is useful to know where in the file these things are coming from.
