The earliest principle of the order of Druids, and one of the very first to be discarded in the years following their founding, was one of Pacifism.
Creatures were part of the delicate balance of wild magic, and to slay such a creature was to stain ones soul.
That is not to say that such Druids gave up meat or products made from animal hide, for where a wild animal has killed another, many resources can be gathered.
Noteworthy is the fact that powerful Druids, in harmony with the animals of nature, held great rituals where magic painlessly created those byproducts, without any harm coming to the animals.
