IP Calculator

IP Calculator is a Python Program to analyse a network given an ip address and subnet mask.

Description

Given any valid IP address and subnet mask, use this calculator to determine the network ID, the first and last hosts in the network, and the broadcast address and number of hosts this network can provide.

Updates

Version 1.5:

• Added Support for CIDR Notation.
• Handled more errors for subnet like the first digit being less than 255.

• The ability to analyse a given ip address and the subnet mask.
• The Network analysis result contains:
  • CIDR.
  • Network ID.
  • First Host Address.
  • Last Host Address.
  • Broadcast Address.
  • Total number of hosts can be supported.
• The ability to handle various errors like invalid ip address or subnetmask.
• The ability to copy the results.

Usage

There are two versions of this calculator one uses CLI(Command Line Interface) and the other is a GUI (Graphical User Interface).

CLI Version

• Download only the python script
• Run the script by executing the following command

python ip-calc.py

Then, Enter ip address and subnet mask when promoted

GUI Version

• Download only the exe file (ip-calc.exe) and run.
