πŸ—ΊοΈ About the Map

This map is inspired by a house in a forest.

πŸ’° Coins

You can collect coins in different ways:

  • Chests β†’ Rare chance to find coins
  • On map load β†’ +5 coins
  • When you kill a player β†’ +3 coins

With these coins, you can buy blocks, items, and weapons from NPCs.

🎨 Textures

  • NPC textures are open source
  • The corner texture is also open source
  • ⚠️ Textures cannot be added directly to the map folder. They must be placed in: 'ctf_map > textures'

🧍 NPCs

  • NPCs are cleared at the end of each game, when the server crashes, or when it restarts (to avoid bugs).
  • They are unkillable.
  • Prices can be adjusted if necessary.

⏳ Gameplay Mechanics

  • At the start of the game, blocks appear at spawn to block players for 20 seconds.
  • This encourages trading and base building before the fight begins.
  • Ores are available underground for resource gathering.

The NPC’s texture can’t be seen on the server; it just shows the default Minetest skin.

If I criticize hard, you could have added more houses so it feels like a village. A single house isn't enough, I think. Also, the map is completely flat - at least when I last played. I would like to see terrain variation. Also, the forest copies Waterloo. In general, forests are not good for CTF; some forest maps were deleted in Ruben CTF.
Technical side: This map requires changing the ctf code. The textures featured in this map should be moved to the corresponding location. So we need code that copies these textures to that location, like map screenshots

My opinion about this is kinda mixed. I feel such a thing is better fit for its own dedicated game mode, rather than a map.

Looking at the amount of code you've written, I really think it should be a game mode. It sounds a lot like Flagwars game mode. What do you think about adding that with a PR to the codebase?
