Hi @kabharati, @shaktisingh-msft When you find sometime, please do update!!! Many Thanks |
hi @arindam0310018 - I need to validate this but it appears it is error in documentation and currently AAD document suggests 53-character limit which should have been 63 characters. I am following up with AAD team to confirm this. From PG side we follow AAD limitations. |
Hello @kabharati Thank you for your kind reply. Meanwhile, Could you share the link to the documentation which states AAD character limit to 53 characters ? Many Thanks |
This is a typo and you're right this should be 63 characters. AAD team is correcting the docs. |

Hello @kabharati, Many Thanks |
Hello @kabharati Best Regards, Arindam Mitra |
Hello Team,
Please be informed that when I tried adding Azure Active Directory Group as Admin in Azure Database for PostgreSQL Single Server, it was observed that it supports AAD Group Name up to 63 characters.
If the AAD Group Name is 64 characters and above, it allows be to add and save but as soon as I refresh the page, AAD Group is No more displayed. It only displays "NO ACTIVE DIRECTORY ADMIN"
Below is what I tried and my observation (please correct me if I am wrong)
There is also NO MENTION of such phenomenon in Limits Page of Az Database for PostgreSQL Single Server - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/single-server/concepts-limits or in Active Directory Authentication - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/single-server/how-to-configure-sign-in-azure-ad-authentication
Please let me know.
Awaiting for your response.
Many Thanks
Regards, Arindam Mitra
