[Bug] Token Symbol value not respected for Native Token ETH when changed from Network Settings and Conversion not displayed #6135

Closed
@seaona

Description

Describe the bug
When I am using a custom network, I can see that if I set the Token Symbol to ETH the value that it takes is ETHER which seems the one set by the network. I can change it to any other value and the symbol is respected for all except if I set it to ETH

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Go to Settings / Network
  2. Add a custom network, i.e. Goerli (https://eth-goerli.public.blastapi.io/ chainId 5)
  3. Set token symbol to ETH
  4. Close settings
  5. See token symbol displayed is ETHER instead of ETH
  6. See how we lost the converstion value
  7. Go back to Networks
  8. Change token symbol to any other value test123
  9. See how now value is respected

Expected behavior

  • Token Symbol should always be the one that the user sets on Network details.
  • Conversion value should be the same, as changing the symbol name should not affect the conversion to fiat
