SpacesTek Initial is the introductory stage of the SpacesTek learning path. It shows how a social audio/video product can model profiles and spaces across React, Angular, React Native, Expo, and Flutter before room and media SDK integration is introduced.
Use this repository to understand the product structure and framework layout. The initial clients do not currently install a MediaSFU SDK; use Final or Advanced for current SDK composition. For a backend room proxy, headless media selection, remote audio rendering, and production-oriented security guidance, continue with SpacesTek Final or SpacesTek Advanced.
- Profile creation and a browse/create/join spaces flow.
- Shared sample data served from a small Express and JSON-file service.
- Starter clients for React, Angular, React Native, Expo, and Flutter.
- Framework-specific UI foundations that are extended with MediaSFU in the later learning stages.
The included backend manages sample profiles and spaces only. It does not proxy MediaSFU room creation or joining, authenticate users, protect room roles, or provide production storage. Do not place a reusable MediaSFU API key in a browser bundle or mobile application. Use the secure server-side proxy pattern shown in SpacesTek Final/Advanced before deploying a shared application.
| Framework | Starter |

| React | mediasfu_reactjs |
| Angular | mediasfu_angular |
| React Native | mediasfu_react_native |
| Expo | mediasfu_react_native_expo |
| Flutter | mediasfu_flutter |

Requirements: Node.js 18 or newer plus the prerequisites listed by your chosen client.
git clone https://github.com/MediaSFU/SpacesTekInitial.git
cd SpacesTekInitial/backend
npm install
node server.jsThen open the README for one client, install its dependencies, and start it.
The sample data service currently listens on http://localhost:3001 and exposes
GET /api/read and POST /api/write.
MediaSFU Cloud is the managed service. Get API details through the MediaSFU Developer Console and explore request contracts in the MediaSFU Sandbox.
MediaSFU Open is the media server that you install, secure, monitor, and operate on your own infrastructure. Cloning SpacesTek does not install or start that server. Begin with the MediaSFU Open repository.
For a shared or production application, route room creation and joining through an authenticated backend. See the secure backend proxy guide.
These images document the sample product flow; they do not demonstrate a live two-participant MediaSFU room. Before distributing an app based on this stage, test room creation, joining, media in both directions, and cleanup with two independent participants.
- Start here for the SpacesTek data model and cross-framework project layout.
- Use SpacesTek Final for the secure room proxy and complete headless media path.
- Use SpacesTek Advanced for moderation, custom components, and deeper headless integration patterns.
