Spec first. Swarm execution. Receipt-backed delivery.
Platforms: SwDD aims to be platform-agnostic. Windows 11 x64 is the validated platform today; testing on Linux is still pending. Read the release notes for current scope and limitations before using it on valuable repositories.
Swarm-Driven Development (SwDD) connects OpenSpec, SWARMS, Gentle-AI, and Engram behind one native swdd command.
Execution goes through SWARMS, whose parallel test-time scaling lets cheap models beat SOTA ones at a fraction of the price: N candidate rollouts in isolated git worktrees, deterministic verification first, LLM judges only as tie-breakers. It also ships verified $0 routes (Ox Alpha Free on OpenCode Zen and Nous Portal, Muse Spark 1.2 Free, Gemini 3.7 Flash Medium).
SwDD is validated on Windows 11 x64 today; the goal is platform-agnostic support and Linux testing is pending. You need one coding Agent Runtime such as OpenCode, Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Kilo. SwDD never installs an Agent Runtime or asks for provider credentials.
- Open PowerShell in this repository.
- Run:
powershell.exe -NoProfile -File .\scripts\install.ps1The bootstrap installs Rust when needed, builds swdd, shows the exact dependency plan, then installs missing pinned versions of Git, PowerShell, Go, Node.js, SWARMS, Gentle-AI, Engram, and OpenSpec. It asks Gentle-AI to configure its full SDD, skills, memory, persona, and permissions stack for every detected Agent Runtime. Existing tool binaries are left unchanged.
Receipt-Driven Development (RDD) stays off by default. To enable it explicitly during installation, run:
powershell.exe -NoProfile -File .\scripts\install.ps1 -EnableRddOpen PowerShell in any Git repository and run:
swdd doctor
swdd initThe installed swdd skill then guides supported Agent Runtimes through specification, Runbook approval, SWARMS execution, verification, and optional Gentle-AI review.
To inspect every source, version, revision, and target without changing the machine:
swdd install --dry-runSwDD is built to be platform-agnostic: Windows 11 x64 is fully validated and
Linux testing is pending. The native CLI supports installation,
doctor inventory, safe repository initialization, Runbook validation and
compilation, SWARMS handoff, exact resume checks, status, and conservative
cleanup. The explicit limitations and verified evidence are tracked in
docs/releases/0.1.0-alpha.1.md and docs/implementation/status.md.
Normative behavior lives in docs/spec/; architecture decisions live in docs/adr/.
