Gaps during playback on CM10 and Stock jellybean rom on samsung S3 i9300

While streaming audio, there are intermittent gaps in audio playback. I've noticed that the pause icon which shows while the audio is playing changes to the "stop" icon while the gap is happening.

This doesn't appear to be caused by the file not downloading fast enough, the file can have 20 meg downloaded and be 2 minutes in, and it still happens.

One thing I've seen in logcat that appears at a suspiciously similar time that the gaps occur is:

W/AudioTrack( 1916): releaseBuffer() track 0x40eb5300 name=0x1 disabled, restarting

This does not happen on the stock ICS samsung rom.

I adb pushed a 1 gig file to the external sdcard (where the music is stored), and the gaqps were exaggerated greatly - spitting out a lot of:
