Heyhey, wanted to comment under this LuaLink/LuaLinkV1#41 issue, but can't since the repo is archived, so i'll create an issue here. Hope this is okay :)

Your star on my repo reminded me that I wanted to write a small how-to on how to generate my code completions. I completed this now and wanted to let you know about it, since you seemed interested.

It's mentioned in the README.md of blua. When you try it out and notice anything is not working properly, please feel free to open issue.

If everything is working properly, I'd be open to migrate the completions generation code to the LuaLink org.

Hey, I have actually begun working on my own version of autocomplete prior to seeing your repository.

I made a tool (which I ended up using the same Java library as you) to generate the Lua definitions here: https://github.com/LuaLink/LuaStubGen.

This tool takes in one or more source JARs, parses them, and outputs the definition files. Just last night, I made a repo and an action to run this tool and generate the latest files: https://github.com/LuaLink/lualink-lls-addon.

It's still a work in progress and has a few minor issues, but it is overall usable. (One issue being is it seems some methods are missing... I noticed this with the Player class all of the CommandSender methods are missing because it seems the tool doesn't find that it inherits that. I wonder if your tool has the same issue 🤔)

Your repo, however, did give me some more insight, such as for Javadocs. I am not sure what I was thinking, but the current Javadoc code is a bit scuffed; however, I've already rewritten it (just not pushed).

Interesting... I am not sure what's wrong with my version but i'll keep looking into it.

Other methods from CommandSender are also missing such as hasPermission

I currently don't have any definitions for the Adventure stuff so maybe that's why...

Alright after making some changes to the tool and generating definitions for most the adventure stuff it now exists.

Everything overall works just need some more people to use it and see if they can run into any issues.

One more awesome feature: LuaLink/lualink-lls-addon@328beeb

Whenever you import a Java class or listen to an event if you are using the Lua LS plugin it will automatically set the correct type for your import and cast the event argument in the handler to the correct class! This was previously required if you wanted to get type hinting.
