Choosing an oven that is cheap and easy to tweak is preferred and 250°C on the temperature know might not be necessary. These ovens might still be able to reach 250°C even without removing the temperature regulation, due to the temperature sensor (usually a bi-metal strip) is located outside of the cooking area.
Tests with such ovens have shown that even without modifications they reach and exceed 250°C. List of tested ovens:
- Rosberg R51441C (800W, 9 litters, 100-230°C)
NB: The list of capable ovens could be updated with other ovens in the future, however, this list is only intended for guidance and not a complete list.
- Cheap and accessible ovens (starting from €20-25)
- Capable of 250°C internal temperature (the middle of the cooking area)
- Internally placed thermocouple
- Recommended but optional ambient temperature sensor
- Recommended but optional current sensor
Current roadmap of the project is to create applications to track and control the temperature of an Oven:
terminal
- Terminal (CLI) based PID controller app for Raspberry Piprotocol
- TBA - shared abstractions for all apps (terminal
,firmware
andlistener
)firmware
- TBA - Embedded device (e.g. based on RP Pico)listener
- TBA - Postcard RPC client for the firmware
