Add patch for Professor Layton and the Unwound Future JP version （レイトン教授と最後の時間旅行）

This game is showing white screen with latest pico loader. Likely due to the ap feature of this game. Is there a way to add the patch for this specific game? Thanks

Not able to reproduce using 88708a4a5b1f1c262bdc4d507def8ac2caf3c613 (rev 0) or 71b378ccabae918db6bdb7d1b9099cf93f2b0e31 (rev 1). Are you using good dumps?

Hi @taxicat1 , thanks for your reply. Sorry the one I am talking is actually a game translated into Chinese based on a Japanese version. Now sure how to check the exact hash code of a game. Is it ok to link download page of the game here?

I suspect the game's anti-piracy mechanism is not being patched by Pico-Loader due to the Chinese translation patch. Please can you get a clean unmodified JP rom, apply the anti-piracy patch to it using the RetroGameFan NDS Rom Tool and then apply the Chinese translation patch to that and see if that works?

I don't know if there is a separate patch for the translation. I tried the tool with the rom it says AP patch not supported.

I am not sure about this either, but the TWlight menu will load this game fine with a piracy warning that can be ignored.

It is giving you the anti-piracy warning because the header CRC does not match what it has an AP patch for, which is normal for a translation. So TWLMenu is not applying an AP patch, and yet the game does not have AP issues when you run it this way. So this sounds like the translation includes its own AP patch which is conflicting with the DSpico applied one.

The AP patching tool as well is complaining that the ROM file is not what it expects and therefore it will not apply the patch.

This game has DS Protect in overlay 10 so likely the patch writes a jump from MIi_UncompressBackward into libsyscall, where it will conflict with DSpico patches.

The solution is the translation patch needs to be corrected to not include the AP patch

The translation work is likely done prior to 2009. It seems that only translated game is available. Is it possible for pico loader to fall back to direct loading when a AP patch conflict occurs, similar to what TWLMenu does?
