Welcome to openpi! Here, you will find open-source models to enhance your robotics projects.
openpi offers three types of models, developed by the Physical Intelligence team:
- Οβ model: A vision-language-action model that helps robots interpret and act on visual data.
- Οβ-FAST model: An autoregressive version of the Οβ model, utilizing the FAST action tokenizer for quicker responses.
- Οβ.β model: An upgraded version of Οβ, designed for better generalization in open-world environments through knowledge insulation.
All models include base checkpoints, pre-trained on thousands of hours of robot data, along with examples to help you use them directly or adapt them for your needs.
To begin using openpi, follow these steps:

Download the Software Click the button below to visit the Releases page and download the latest version of openpi.

Install openpi After downloading, locate the downloaded file on your computer. Double-click to start the installation process. Follow the prompts to install openpi.

Launch the Application Once installed, find the openpi application in your programs list and double-click to launch it. You can now begin working with the models.
- Operating System: Windows 10/11, macOS 10.15 or later, or a compatible Linux distribution.
- RAM: Minimum of 4 GB.
- Disk Space: At least 1 GB of free space for installation and model data.
Note: Ensure your device has enough resources to run the application efficiently.
To use the models provided in openpi:
- Choose a Model: Select one of the models you want to work with.
- Follow Examples: Openpi provides sample code and usage examples for each model. Start by reviewing these examples to understand how to implement the models.
- Fine-tune to Your Data: If desired, you can adapt the models to your own datasets. Instructions for fine-tuning are included within the application.
