Description
Add the ability for users to define predefined cross-section types by entering their dimensions. The corresponding geometric properties of the cross-section (e.g. second moments of area) would then be automatically computed from these dimensions. This functionality would support and enable dimension-based optimization workflows
Some examples of possible cross-section types:
Rod (solid circular section): requires a radius or diameter
Tube (hollow circular section): requires outer radius and thickness, or outer radius and inner radius
I-section: requires six geometric dimensions in total
