Tab Font Size, Lack of Tab <> Panel Cross Selection Makes UI Unusable

• Insomnia version 12.5
• macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 (25E253)
• Tabs unusable, cannot read the text (spills off tab)
• No panel-selection on tab selection, no way to triangulate which tab is selected by panel row highlight (non-existent)
• Font too large and tabs cannot be dynamically resized with text, font cannot be changed in the UI
• Migrated 10-person team from Postman to Insomnia hoping it would be better, so far, benefit is only offline features and Text Edit vs. Single Line Text Input

Thanks for sharing the detailed feedback and the screenshot.

From the screenshot, I can see the challenge around readability when multiple tabs have similar names and long text. However, on my end, I'm currently not able to reproduce the behavior where the selected tab/ request is completely unclear. I'm able to see both -

1. The selected request highlighted in the left-side request list.
2. The currently opened request name displayed in the top tab area.
   Could you try restarting insomnia once and check whether the behavior still persists?

In insomnia 12.5 there is an option to work with a single active tab instead of multiple open tabs simultaneously, which may help reduce some of the tab management complexity.

At the moment, dynamic tab resizing, font customization are not configurable directly from the UI.

A feature request has been raised to add this functionality.

more important would be the provenance back to the tree item. that is a simple fix I would imagine since the state would just need to be reflected where the tab selection highlights the item in the tree. otherwise there is no easy way to know either from the tab or the tree, how the two relate to one another. there is also an issue with the hover events on the tab which relates to the same issue showing the project name and not expanding the name of the actual tab. telling me the project or folder in the hover ALSO doesnt tell me which tab I'm looking at.

I have noticed about a dozen other things like setting text as JSON-type inside of a request resets the second you leave the view and come back into it. overall, for a React app running chromium, the UI feels completely lost and poorly connected. Even the Plugins dont appear to be working for anything Tab related so it is evident that somewhere, something regressed and the Plugin store should remove things which are no longer working and which promise to fix the bad experience. Better, fix the experience. So many things about this could be AMAZING, but we are now shopping other solutions because having moved my team, nobody is happy about this change.
