🚀 Main branch optimization:

  • Security scans: Only run on PRs and scheduled runs (not every main push)
  • Dependency checks: Only run on PRs and scheduled runs
  • Test coverage: Only run on PRs and scheduled runs
  • Fast tests: Run on main branch pushes (0.04s vs 2s coverage)

📊 Job execution by event:
Main branch push:
✅ Quality checks (formatting, linting) ✅ Fast unit tests (0.04s) ❌ Security scans (moved to PRs) ❌ Dependency audits (moved to PRs) ❌ Coverage collection (moved to PRs)

Pull requests:
✅ All jobs (full validation)

Scheduled runs:
✅ All jobs (full monitoring)

⚡ Result:

  • Main branch merges: 2 jobs instead of 5
  • 60% fewer CI minutes on main branch
  • PRs still get full validation
  • Much faster feedback on main branch pushes

No more running 'a ton of shit' on main! 🎉
