Welcome to the PhantomBan configuration guide! This guide will help server administrators understand how to configure the PhantomBan plugin to suit their server's needs. We'll break down each section for clarity and explain how you can customize the plugin to achieve the desired functionality.
PhantomBan is an innovative Minecraft plugin that allows server administrators to "phantom-ban" players. Instead of completely banning a player, phantom-banned players can still join the server but experience significant gameplay restrictions. This approach provides a unique way to moderate players, giving them a chance to reduce their ban time by staying online and encouraging positive behavior.
- Download the PhantomBan plugin JAR file from the official source.
-
Place the JAR file into your server's
plugins
directory. - Restart your server to load the plugin.
- Upon first run, PhantomBan will generate default configuration files in the
plugins/PhantomBan
directory.
PhantomBan works by intercepting banned players as they attempt to join the server. Instead of preventing their login, it allows them to join but imposes various restrictions based on your configuration. These restrictions can include:
- Preventing the player from chatting.
- Disabling their ability to use commands.
- Blocking interactions with the world (e.g., breaking or placing blocks).
- Making them invisible to other players.
- Customizable messages informing them of their phantom-ban status.
