subplots interactivity questions

Hi all,
I'm still waiting for the package to be released in conda-forge channels but, in the meantime, I have a couple of questions regarding interactivity in subplots:

• Is there a possibility of creating subplots with shared and synchronized x-axis? meaning that when I zoom in 1 subplot it recreates the zoom in the other subplot.
• can I get information on every data-series (in all subplots) when hover 1 of the series, like this one example from Plotly-Python [https://plotly.com/python/hover-text-and-formatting/#hover-on-subplots]?
• Can I create a vertical hoverline across all subplots showing information of all the data-series in all subplots like the following image?:

• Shared x-axis - yes, see the sharex parameter in gggrid() gggrid()
• The next two items - unfortunately, you cannot do this in lets-plot at the moment. The closest workaround would be to use a dataframe containing all variables needed in both charts, then configure the tooltip to show all these variables in both charts.

As for the conda-forge channel... we're all in the same boat and frankly I have no idea what's going on there. Our PR will celebrate its 1-year anniversary soon :) It's been ready for merging for quite a while now. When will it be merged? Will it be merged at all? No idea.

Currently, pan/zoom works totally independently in each subplot, but keeping shared axis in sync would be a good improvement. I've submitted an issue: #1413

To close this discussion, I would like to express a few enhancements that I think would be unbelievably valuable for lets-plot and that I really miss when moving from Plotly or Altair:

• For single plots and different series, it would be very useful to see the different series values when hover over 1 of the series. this could be a parameter inside geom_line(), geom_point(), etc. maybe called "tooltip" in which we could have the option to:
  - Only see tooltip information on the data series we are hovering over.
  - See tooltips of ALL data series when hovering over one of them.

• For subplots, via gggrid(), the same tooltips options comented before would be quite useful:
  - Only see tooltip information on the data series we are hovering over.
  - See tooltips of ALL data series in a subplot when hovering over one of them.
  - See tooltips of ALL data series in ALL subplots when hovering over one of them.

• And finally, this one I don't know if it already exists, I couldn't find it, it would be extraordinary if, by clicking on the data-series legend, we could "remove" the data in the plot (while maintaining the legend in case we want to "activate" it again".

The 'interactive legend' feature doesn't exist but it is in our plans.
The 'synchronized tooltips' feature would also be very useful indeed. Thanks!

Hi ma-galan, in v4.8.0 the default behavior now is "See tooltips of ALL data series when hovering over one of them."
Let's see if this works better for you.

Please note that the plot may switch a to single tooltip mode when different types of layer are present (e.g., geom_line + geom_point). This behaviour can be controlled by disabling the tooltips for secondary layers:

Thanks for the quick addition!
I've been testing it and I really like it now. I have a couple of gripes though:

• when I use geom_smooth() in 2 different data-series, only the tooltips of 1 geom_smooth line is shown:

• when using gggrid(), only the tooltips of the series of 1 of the subplots is shown. Ideally, showing the tooltips of ALL the series in ALL the subplots would be beneficial for my use case.
