BigDecimal vs int solution for calculations

There was a suggestion to move on with int type to calculate money and quantities, we need to research this opportunity.

I think you would move directly to long ;-)
It is certainly more intuitive for the dev and faster. The only risk is the overflow, but I guess numbers above 2^64 would indicate the system is broken anyway?

After investigating this issue a bit, I found JSR-354 - https://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=354
So sometime in the future this JSR can be merged in java core as a module. There is an implementation - https://github.com/JavaMoney/jsr354-ri I can try to play with it and see if this library can be useful.
