When the issue occurs
If
localStorage.themeis set to'dark'(i.e., not the default theme),a transition (flash effect) happens whenever you navigate to another page (or refresh).
How it was fixed
Added a
theme-transitionhelper classwhich is only applied when toggling the theme.
