If you run a single app by itself in a Wildfly instance in a container it is useful to pass in oracle DB parameters as env vars. This would not work well if you have multiple apps in a single shared Wildfly instance as the envs would need to be name-spaced / qualified to avoid collision. Thus separate
_dynamicvariant is opt-in.
