Problem

J5's next features were worked out in conversation: share links, several people in one conversation, hosted servers with agents that run elsewhere, a "what happened since I last looked" view, and the human attention spectrum. The definitions say what was decided; nothing said how.

What changed

Adds four records under docs/j5/worklog/, one per session:

Record Covers State
2026-10-09-multi-player-session.md Share links, and several people in one conversation; a second read of the code; the review of the definitions Carried by the Shared server and shared conversations definitions (#529). Build tracked in #531, #532, #533; second-version items in #534
2026-10-10-hosted-server-session.md Three shapes for a company-hosted server, and the order of work (v1, v2, v3) Thinking kept for later, by Jackson's ruling. Nothing designed
2026-10-10-catch-up-session.md A per-person read marker and caught-up pointer, and a catch-up summary written by a small model Proposals. No definition or issue yet
2026-10-10-attention-spectrum-session.md The spectrum as three bands, what counts as a signal, and the signals a Fleet page row carries Proposals. Stopped at the agent's side, which is recorded as not ruled

The records are not definitions and nothing here is built. The code facts in them come from reading the server only, and each record says what was not verified.

Checklist

  • One concern: the description has no "also"
  • Tests cover the changed behavior (backend changes ship with focused tests): docs only, no behavior changes
  • UI changes: before/after screenshots above, and a video for motion or interaction: no UI changes
  • Upstream-owned files: each one is recorded in FORK.md (case text and file-table row) in this PR: none edited
  • Upstream product: any change to what upstream's product does has a human decision linked above and a register entry in docs/j5/product/upstream.md: nothing changes; the register entries are owed by the PRs that build share links and the per-person read marker
  • Surfaces: entry points, clients, providers, contracts, reverse states, connection modes (see AGENTS.md): docs only
  • Docs: definitions under docs/j5/product/ and user docs rewritten where this changes them: done separately in docs(j5): define members, guests, grants and shared conversations #529

Opus 5.5, Claude Code in J5 Code.

Rulings on share links and the start of shared conversations, as a
record. They are proposals until the Shared server definition and the
register of divergences carry them.

Walkthrough

This PR adds four dated J5 worklogs. They record multi-player, attention-spectrum, catch-up, and hosted-server discussions, including proposals, session rulings, implementation assumptions, and unresolved questions.

Changes

Multi-player session

Layer / File(s) Summary
Grants and session access
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-09-multi-player-session.md
Records person, project, and thread grants; view and collaborate capabilities; sharing authority; and proposed session permission handling.
Shared conversation behavior
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-09-multi-player-session.md
Records proposed message attribution, member and guest interactions, shared history, and access removal behavior.
Implementation findings and later rulings
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-09-multi-player-session.md
Corrects implementation assumptions about permission checks and routes. Records later rulings about prompts, Crew rosters, and guest access. The document says the feature is not built.

Attention spectrum session

Layer / File(s) Summary
Bands and positioning principles
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-attention-spectrum-session.md
Defines proposed attention bands and records principles for agent position, movement, and snooze behavior.
Signals and Fleet presentation
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-attention-spectrum-session.md
Records proposed row information based on measured or agent-declared signals, plus proposed Fleet placement and event presentation.
Agent interaction and multi-person scope
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-attention-spectrum-session.md
Lists unresolved questions about agent awareness and tool behavior. Sets aside multi-person behavior and notes shared per-thread values.

Catch-up session

Layer / File(s) Summary
Read and caught-up pointers
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-catch-up-session.md
Describes the existing shared read marker and proposes separate per-person read and caught-up pointers.
Summary generation and scope
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-catch-up-session.md
Proposes a separate summary model and text-helper job. Defines summary inputs, privacy, and guest access. The worklog states these changes are not implemented.

Hosted server session

Layer / File(s) Summary
Deployment shapes and current execution
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-hosted-server-session.md
Describes current agent execution and compares shared-server, container, and vendor-cloud deployment shapes.
Roadmap and deployment requirements
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-hosted-server-session.md
Records the proposed mix of deployment shapes and sequencing. Lists container and vendor-cloud considerations.
Identity and multi-member scope
docs/j5/worklog/2026-10-10-hosted-server-session.md
Records identity and attribution concerns and assigns a multi-member-server question to the second-version scope. The document states that no design is settled.
