TN5: XR Experiences sould not include things that break the experience and this should default to off #5

The Problem

In modern web and mobile, there is little consideration about user experience above corporate needs or advertising opportunities. In VR and XR, the experience matters above these needs. The experience can be broken by a survey, a EULA, or some opt in for marketing. The last thing we need to see from the maker of the application is a Black Friday sale on now, or alternatively, a notification from outside the application inside of the experience.

Discussion

When in XR, we need a switch that defaults to off, that allows the user to control whether they can be notified of updates, need to click through a new eula, fill out a review, fill out a survey, report information about a crash, or be marketed to in a manner that is not a part of the XR experience.

Solution

Proposal is to have a "reality break" switch, which prevents the default behavior of companies to include experiencing breaking things in the application or platform. So if "reality break" is on, the user won't see these things in XR. They should be able to be shown these things before entering XR, or after. XR needs above all to be able to be more than what Mobile platforms are currently, and this should give users a chance for serenity breaks from other things demanding attention.
