Attach keyboard button grayed out

When looking at this page I get stuck on the step where it says:

For each instance where gamepad player index is NONE, AND the message under menu says “Warning! This instance cannot lock mouse”:

The solution is to click the attach button but in both instances of SD it's grayed out.

I had already run the keyboard shortcuts generator for 2 instances prior to launching SD. Just in case, I quit out of both instances and re-ran the generator, to no avail.

Make sure you attach a keyboard before a mouse. If that doesn't work, please upload your log to log.smapi.io and post it here.

The button to attach a keyboard is also grayed out, below are the two error logs for when I launch the first and second instances of SMAPI:

The mod seems to think it should use player index one. Can you right-click > properties on the Keyboard 1/2/3 shortcuts and check if there is a --player-index 0 at the end?

Both Keyboard 1 & 2 have --player-index 0 at the end in the "Target" field of properties. There is also Gamepad 1/2/3/4 (not sure how those were generated) which have --player-index 1 or 2/3/4 at the end (each corresponding to the right gamepad number).

I do have 2 Steam controllers that I was attempting to play split screen Stardew with...perhaps those are responsible for this fuckery? Have you ever developed with or gotten reports of issues with Steam controllers?

Steam could be causing controller issues, it might not work well with multiple windows. I'd recommend renaming steam_api.dll to steam_api.dll.disabled (or something) and closing Steam before opening the shortcuts.
