Adds a script to load locations from one CDA instance to another.

Setups up the framework to add additional sub options such as timeseries/ratings.

Attempted to use hec python library for data objects and cwms-python for fetching/stores.

Could be the start of #12

I would add the ability to using a location group. Maybe timeseries group (All locations in the timeseries group).. Or pass in a list of locations/config file. you can skip using the hec.locations and hec.datastore if you like. Just looping through and passing in the individual json will work.. and the datastore just really does init_api. But using it is fine as well as it looks to have some additional checks. There will be errors in storing some locations that were never updated with lat/log ext...

I did make an issue here for this Misunderstood, thought you meant some of the keys returned are not in Location class yet. I was able to run this for a large number of locations into a clean instance of Oracle after making this change using hec-python-library:

I was able to test it locally to get the Location to work by adding **kwargs to the hec-lib's Location class.

I figure the more logic I can offload elsewhere using all the various libraries the better for maintenance. Also because we aren't doing anything to specialized that requires us using raw cwms-python/requests/pandas with a data loader.

But you certainly could with the other loader types! (ratings)

Changes request

I will look into adding:

  • ability to use a location group
  • timeseries group (All locations in the timeseries group)..
  • pass in a list of locations/config file
  • Remove hec.location/hec.datastore

Combines the various USGS scripts into a click group allowing for
subcommands
