[BUG] search text cut off when loading menu

The search text that you enter in the loading screen, which is then applied to the menu to be opened, is sometimes cut off after the correct menu appears. 
This happens because we select the search text when submenu acitvated. If the user then continues to write, the search text will be overwritten.
