A implementação me parece OK, mas eu tenho ressalvas sobre a forma...
Manter o mesmo método e criar uma configuração para Sincrono/Assincrono não faz mais sentido ?
O @paulohenriquejamsoft me explicou que por serem retornos diferentes um novo método se fez necessário.

Pra mim está tudo certinho, eu deixaria métodos separados pois no desenvolvimento é mais nítido, quando é configuração pessoal nem sabe pra que serve e se confunde tudo |
