🎥 captions - Real-Time Captions for TikTok Live

Download captions

📋 What is captions?

captions is a simple tool that turns live speech on TikTok streams into text. It shows real-time captions on your screen while you watch TikTok LIVE videos. It also supports multiple languages by translating what is spoken. This can help people follow conversations better, especially if they have hearing difficulties or speak different languages.

This app works on Windows and does not require technical skills to run. You can watch TikTok LIVE streams with subtitles right away.

⚙️ System Requirements

To use captions, your Windows computer should meet these needs:

  • Windows 10 or newer (64-bit)
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • A stable internet connection
  • 1 GHz processor or faster
  • Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or higher

You do not need to install extra software to run captions.

🌐 Key Features

  • Shows speech-to-text subtitles for TikTok LIVE videos
  • Translates captions into several languages in real time
  • Works with any TikTok LIVE stream
  • Simple user interface with easy start and stop controls
  • Runs smoothly on regular Windows setups
  • Uses the latest technology for accurate voice recognition

🚀 Getting Started with captions

Follow these steps to get captions up and running on your PC.

Step 1: Download captions

Click the big button below. It takes you to the official GitHub page where you can get the app.

Download captions

Once there, look for the latest Windows version or setup file in the Releases section. Download the file named something like captions-setup.exe or captions-windows.exe.

Step 2: Install captions

After the download finishes, go to your Downloads folder.

  • Double-click the setup file you just downloaded.
  • If Windows asks for permission, click Yes or Run.
  • Follow the on-screen steps to install the app.
  • Choose the default options unless you want to change the install location.
  • Wait until the installation process completes.

The app will create a shortcut on your desktop or Start Menu.

Step 3: Open captions and connect to TikTok LIVE

  • Launch captions from your desktop or Start Menu.
  • The app window will open with a simple interface.
  • Copy a TikTok LIVE URL from your browser. This is the link to the stream you want to watch.
  • Paste the URL into the box in captions.
  • Click Start Captions or the equivalent button.

captions will then connect to the live stream and start showing text captions on your screen. You will see the spoken words appear almost instantly.

Step 4: Change language settings (optional)

If you want captions in a different language:

  • Click the Language dropdown or settings icon.
  • Choose your desired language for translation.
  • The app will translate the live speech into that language subtitle.

You can switch languages anytime without restarting captions.

🔧 Troubleshooting tips

If you see no captions or experience issues, try these fixes:

  • Check your internet connection. A slow or unstable connection may stop the app from working properly.
  • Make sure the TikTok LIVE URL is correct and active.
  • Restart captions and try the process again.
  • Close other programs that may use a lot of your network or CPU.
  • Update captions to the latest version from the GitHub page.
  • Restart your computer if problems continue.

If issues persist, you can get support by opening a new issue on the GitHub repository page.

❓ How captions works

captions uses advanced speech-to-text technology to listen to TikTok LIVE audio. It converts spoken words into text quickly and accurately. The app connects directly to the TikTok API to get real-time audio data. Then, it processes this data in the background and shows subtitles on the screen.

The translation feature uses language models to provide live text conversion from the original language into your choice of another one. This helps viewers understand streams in foreign languages.

🛠️ Common uses

  • Helping people with hearing impairments enjoy TikTok LIVE.
  • Following non-English streams with translated captions.
  • Understanding noisy or unclear speech during live broadcasts.
  • Enhancing accessibility for online video content.
  • Recording text transcripts for later reference or study.
