Introduction

The PQ Dashboard enables the visualization of findings and insights derived from event waveforms and power system trending data that are housed within the openXDA solution and which are measured by Power Quality (PQ) monitors and Digital Fault Recorders (DFRs). Development of the PQ Dashboard has been largely funded by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). This web-based application is designed to be an enterprise resource and it is architected to be deployed within a distributed IT infrastructure. The necessary components are MS Internet Information Server (IIS); connections to the MS SQL Server openXDA and PQ Dashboard configuration data bases; and the openHistorian trending data store.

It is assumed that a user of the PQ Dashboard will have a basic understanding of PQ and DFR data, including the concepts of ‘events’ and ‘trends’, and the measurement quantities typically included in PQ data files. Input data can be from typical PQ monitors in standard PQDIF format, or from any power system device that provides waveform data in standard COMTRADE format and some proprietary formats.
