Why: to increase our progress
What: increase our own marketing efforts or get help from SMEs, org leads, etc.

To be discussed. For the time being GSF's marketing efforts are focused on the SOGS survey.

Create an infographic

  1. Relate SCI, Training and Patterns.
  2. Process for creating and approving a pattern.
  3. Infographic for some of the best patterns in each category.

Speaker Deck: "Training on how to create a pattern"

Naveen: We can have a layered architecture - Learn (training), SCI (Standardise), Implement and reduce (cloud, ai ...)

When looking at AWS on how they promote patterns. They provide example architectures for specific use cases. That's also something we could do, for example provide some example architectures that implement the patterns we promote.

That's a really good point, I remember discussing some training in this space years ago and we landed on the idea of:

  • Describe the initial state of the application architecture.
  • How you would measure it.
  • Describe the changes you would make to the new architecture.
  • Measure it, see the impact.

So far more pragmatic, how do you actually reduce the carbon emissions of a reference architecture application.

Back then we didn't have even the SCI way of measuring so it was impossible really. Now we have the SCI and the patterns we have all the pieces!

It does sound like it might be another course though :/ next stage past practitioner?

Ooh @markus-ntt-seidl what if that was a speaker deck! Step by step, ref arch, how you would measure, then the patterns from the catalog for improving and then how you would measure in the end.

I feel like we have come full circle :) All those "reusable" decks would fit v nicely with the speakers' project!

Sounds good. We have to clarify a few details to be able to get started:

  • I'll need help to map out the steps / tasks
  • need to know who will / can work on this
  • let's also define the timeline to complete this
    TBD today

Discussions in today's meeting (to be continued next time):

  • 'Pattern Party' event
  • explain theory + sample pattern + real world application
  • 2-3 min pitch / podcast for each category (AI, web, cloud)
  • 1-minute online video
  • use case / training course on applying patterns (use Shrini's example? or Aditi?)
  • collaborate with SCI group (apply SCI, look at ways to reduce it, this is how you generate pattern ideas)
  • should technical authors be our audience in this project not devs?
