Description
Does a similar issue already exist?
It looks kinda similar to issue #142 “Wakes render black with Iris Shaders, but normally without”.
Describe the bug
When Iris is installed, wakes render dark/gray (they lose the water tint) even with no shaderpack selected. If I remove Iris, wakes look normal again.
Expected behavior
Wakes should keep the correct, water-tinted appearance even if Iris is present and no shaderpack is loaded.
To Reproduce
- Create a minimal profile: Fabric API + Sodium + Iris (no shaderpack) + Wakes.
- Enter a world and swim or row a boat.
- Observe wakes appearing dark/gray.
- Remove Iris → wakes render correctly.
Screenshots
Here:

It should look brighter like this...

Hardware and OS
- OS: Windows 11
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060
Versions
- Minecraft version: 1.20.1
- Mod loader & version: Fabric 0.16.14
- Wakes version: 4.0
- Fabric API version: 0.92.6
- (For context) Iris: 1.7.6
Additional information
- Removing Iris fixes it, which points to a rendering-path interaction in Iris even without a shaderpack.
