Abstract

🇮🇹 I disturbi dello spettro autistico (DSA) si riferiscono a disturbi dello sviluppo neurologico, con esordio nei primi tre anni di vita, e sono caratterizzati da difficoltà di comunicazione, interazione sociale e schemi limitati e ripetitivi nei comportamenti, negli interessi e nelle attività di un individuo. L'autismo rappresenta una sindrome molto complessa, nella maggior parte dei casi di natura genetica, e poiché le sue manifestazioni sono molto varie e possono differire da soggetto a soggetto, è più appropriato parlare di "spettro autistico". L'applicazione sviluppata per questo lavoro di tesi per il training di pazienti con disturbi dello spettro autistico (DSA) prevede l'utilizzo del robot umanoide Pepper della SoftBank Robotics®. In particolare, sono stati realizzati e implementati due test da somministrare a pazienti con DSA: Test sulla discriminazione uditiva e Test della Torre di Londra.

🇬🇧 Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) refers to developmental neurological disorders, with onset in the first three years of life, and are characterized by difficulties in communication, social interaction, and limited and repetitive patterns in an individual's behaviors, interests and activities. Autism represents a very complex syndrome, in most cases of a genetic origin, and since its manifestations can vary widely and differ from one individual to another, it is more appropriate to speak of an "autism spectrum." The application developed for this thesis work to train patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) involves the use of the humanoid robot Pepper from SoftBank Robotics®. Specifically, two tests were made and implemented to be administered to patients with ASD: the Auditory Discrimination Test and the Tower of London Test.
