Problem statement
The "Notes" field is primarily used, in my case, to either:
- Remember what is my particular connection to a person
- Remember why exactly I muted them (or, in very rare extreme cases, blocked them)
The "Mutes & Blocks" page doesn't make this evident. Instead, it shows me the full profile bio of every muted person, which consumes tons of space without helping me remember why they're on that deny list.
Implementation Details
- This follows the GNOME HIG.
I would also suggest:
- For the "Mutes & Blocks" list pages: De-emphasizing the rest of the bio, and putting the emphasis on the Notes field. Ideally only show the notes field, or otherwise, put it at the top above the bio, and fade out (50% opacity?) the rest of the profile so that my eyes can focus on the Notes field.
- For the regular profile details view:
- Putting the "Notes" field at the top even on the regular user's profile view, instead of doing that only on the "Mutes & Blocks" page
- Maybe using the OS' accent color to background-color that notes field, so that it stands out more visually (especially when visiting someone's profile page)?
