Fix GMT6 library not found error

Everyone who is getting this error, please subscribe to this issue (link on the side). You'll be notified of any progress we make.

This is happening because some of our dependencies on conda-forge got updated and are now incompatible with the current build of GMT6. I've been working hard to get it back up but there have been some problems along the way.

Right now, this is all hanging on conda-forge/gmt-feedstock#51. Once that is done, things should be back to normal.

For the moment, if you want to give GMT/Python a try, you can do so online at http://try.gmtpython.xyz/

I finally found the problem and am running a fix in conda-forge/gmt-feedstock#52. Once that is passing and merged, things should be back in order. Thanks for all your patience!

Thank for your hard work.
Today I give a try, from a new conda env.
Still some error after import gmt in ipython, but it looks better than last time.

Yeah, that's something that will get fixed by #224 But I'm having some trouble getting the CIs to pass on that. The state of conda-forge has been very unstable lately. See conda/conda#7656

Success! After #224 and conda-forge/gmt-feedstock#53 all CIs are passing! I just hope it will stay that way for at least a week 😞

@luchiayu could you please open a new issue to discuss this? Also, please make sure that you have the very latest GMT by running conda update gmt -c conda-forge/label/dev.
