Add OGG vorbis

Feature description

I suggest adding the OGG Vorbis format to the audio format options.

Why do you want this feature?

What I like about OGG is that it offers greater flexibility in sampling rate than OPUS ( xiph/opus#43 ) and is better compatible with older devices given that it had been around for longer.

OGG Vorbis has a similar quality as AAC (M4A) at the same bitrate, which is better than MP3, but OGG isn't patent-encumbered.

Also, ASR by NLL apps had a Vorbis option for a long time.

I also suspect more devices support hardware-level Vorbis encoding than OPUS, reducing battery usage.

@HT-7 i assume also the few times you only wrote OGG, you actually meant just the Vorbis codec... because technically speaking the Opus codec usually also uses the OGG container (even if the extension .opus is used).

i'm not sure if the "flexibility" @HT-7 mentioned is really necessary (as even in the issue you linked, it is stated that it hardly makes any sense)... i'm very interested in a real world use case!? 🤔

if you are generally concerned about quality (if your recording hardware is really that good) and intend to re-sample resp. process the audio track any further, lossless audio codecs like FLAC (#27) or even WAV (#213) would be by far the better option.

considering that almost all streaming services use the Opus codec (not to mention that it is required for WebRTC), i'm pretty sure the hardware adoption is also not really an issue and gets even lesser by time going by.

the point i'll give you without any doubt is, that being able to play OGG Vorbis files would be a nice addition to add some backwards compatibility (no idea if this is already possible!? 🤷)... but that is IMHO no reason to create new files using an inferior codec with no real benefit over Opus.

BTW: one thing i don't get is, that Fossify Voice Recorder uses the .ogg extension for Opus files?!? 🤨
i guess this has something to do with the backwards compatibility mentioned somewhere in #35... but in this case it makes absolutely no sense (any more) as IIRC also the .opus extension should be recognized correctly on AOSP >=8 (which is the minimum to install the app).
