Feature description

I suggest adding a simple, privacy-focused annual listening summary feature. A new option (e.g., a “Generate Year Summary” button in a Statistics section) would analyze the user's local playback history and create a basic image (PNG) showing their top songs/artists and total listening time for the past year. Everything must work 100% offline.

Why do you want this feature?

This would provide a fun, personalized recap for users without compromising their privacy, which is Fossify's core strength. It transforms the app's “no data collection” policy into a unique user benefit. Many users look for this feature (like Spotify Wrapped), and a local version would be a perfect fit.

Additional information

The implementation could be minimal at first (a simple local image generator). The key principle is that no data leaves the device—no play history, stats, or images are sent to any server. This aligns perfectly with the app's fully offline ethos.

I love it! I actually sent an email for this exact feature a month ago, but now, according to the post on Reddit, I should have gone to GitHub. I was just about to write it up myself when I came across this. I think this would be a revolution for us Music Player users. Especially since I only use Music Player and don't listen to music anywhere else, a feature showing 'What did I listen to that year, Hilmi?' is crucial for me. I also think seasonal summaries or easily accessible, real-time statistics should be added.Greetings from Turkey

It's great to know I'm not the only one who felt this feature was missing. The fact that you rely exclusively on Fossify Music Player makes it even more relevant: your local database contains your entire music history.

I agree that seasonal summaries and real-time statistics would be fantastic additions in the future. However, to increase the chances of this being implemented soon, I hope the maintainers can start with a simple "Year in Review" generator (MVP). Since it only needs to query the existing history once a year (or on demand), it should be technically easier to build without affecting app performance or battery life.

Hopefully, if we get this basic version first, it will open the door to more detailed statistics later on! 🚀
