Ubuntu – Adding and removing users using the GUI

You can add a new user to Ubuntu by following the steps below:

1. Click on the System Settings icon

2. Next click on the User Accounts icon

3. Click on the Unlock icon and input your password when asked

4 . Now click on the + icon.

5. Set the account type and fill out the rest of the fields. Then click the add button.

Now the new user should show up in the account list.

To remove a user just click on the – icon. Select if you want to keep the user’s files (all the files in the user’s home directory) or delete the files.
