A submission to Pawhacks 2024 at Northeastern University in Oakland. A narrative-rythm based game.
As an artist heavy team, we were inspired to work towards an issue that we were familiar with for this challenge, that being the lack of art education in our school system. Having experienced the benefits of a good relationship with art and creativity, we want to share its importance with those who might not have been able to have learning opportunities we did, as well as spread awareness about this growing issue.
The game is a narrative driven rhythm game that centers around a school boy learning to play the keyboard and the friends he meets along the way. As you play you'll see the benefits of music and the other forms of art as it effect those around you.
We build the game up within Unity and created all original art, music and dialog. We also created our own rhythm game system and dialog framework to facilitate the gameplay and storytelling we were looking for.
