Description
I'd like to be able to 'archive' certain notes, and to prevent them from being edited at all, not merely when I first open them. (Similar to how reddit threads get archived 6 months after posting in some subreddits.)
I would like to have a strict and obvious forcing function in place to help me remember that certain notes are barred from editing. Otherwise, I risk going on autopilot and switching to editing in an archived note.
Here's how I would implement this.
When a note is strictly locked:
- Replace the status bar button that reflect current view with 🔓.
- Replace the tab title bar button to switch views with 🔓.
- Disable hotkey to switch to edit mode.
The 🔓 replacement buttons would act as toggles, similar to the current status bar toggle.
Bonus points: an option to show a warning modal upon clicking on one of the 🔓 replacement buttons and/or when invoking a hotkey to switch to edit mode. The modal would clearly communicate that the note is locked and offer two options: Close and Unlock.
Thank you for considering this request 🙌
