Mimetic Fields

Mimetic Fields studies coupled attention systems as interacting fields with positive and negative feedback. We focus on entropic collapse (target fixation, diversity loss) and stabilization layers (damping, recovery, viability).

Why it matters

Many information ecosystems exhibit fast synchronization and occasional collapse-like episodes. We provide:

  • a minimal coupled-field agent-based model (Social ↔ Institutional),
  • entropy-based diagnostics (diversity, fixation, recovery),
  • large-N scaling experiments,
  • a roadmap to empirical tests (e.g., institutional news + federated social platforms).
