Digital Twin of Slovenia (DTSI)

License: MIT

Overview

The Digital Twin of Slovenia (DTSI) is an ambitious project aimed at creating a comprehensive digital representation of Slovenia's physical and environmental characteristics. By leveraging Earth observation data, geospatial technologies, and advanced modeling techniques, DTSI provides a virtual replica of Slovenia's landscape, infrastructure, and natural resources.

About

A digital twin is a virtual model designed to accurately reflect a physical object, system, or environment. The Digital Twin of Slovenia serves as a dynamic, data-driven platform that integrates multiple data sources to enable:

  • Real-time monitoring of environmental conditions
  • Predictive analysis for planning and decision-making
  • Scenario simulation for impact assessment
  • Data visualization of Slovenia's geographic and environmental data

Key Features

  • 🌍 Earth Observation Integration: Utilizing satellite imagery and remote sensing data
  • 🗺️ Geospatial Analysis: Comprehensive mapping and spatial analysis capabilities
  • 📊 Data Visualization: Interactive visualization of Slovenia's environmental and geographic data
  • 🔄 Real-time Updates: Dynamic data integration for up-to-date representations
  • 🔮 Predictive Modeling: Advanced modeling for forecasting and scenario planning

Sentinel Hub Custom Scripts

A collection of custom scripts for Sentinel Hub, which can be fed to the visualization on Copernicus Space Data Ecosystem via the URL is in the custom scripts folder. These scripts are designed to enhance the visualization and analysis of satellite imagery for various applications.

The scripts are adopted from the Sentinel Hub Custom Scripts repository.

Use Cases

The Digital Twin of Slovenia can support various applications:

  • Environmental Monitoring: Track changes in land use, vegetation, and natural resources
  • Urban Planning: Assist in sustainable development and infrastructure planning
  • Disaster Management: Support emergency response and risk assessment
  • Climate Analysis: Study climate patterns and environmental changes
  • Resource Management: Optimize management of natural resources
  • Policy Making: Provide data-driven insights for governmental decisions
