Do I need to modify parameters in ' Turbulent Wind data Options '(stdU,stdV,stdW,Lux,Luy,Luz)?

Thank you very much for your code. I'm doing wind vibration research on super high-rise structures, and I need to get wind speed data on the top of the structure(Zmax=250). I used Example 2 in your code and copied the 'Comparison with Von Karman Spectrum 'code from Example 1 into Example 2 (because I wanted to see how the simulated spectrum corresponds to the target spectrum).
I change the meanU,Zr,a（all in 'Mean Wind speed Profile' of the INPUT_Example 2）. And i also change the 'U_target = '（equal to the meanU）in the Example 2.But the results in 'Comparison with Von Karman spectrum' are not good.
Do I need to modify parameters in ' Turbulent Wind data Options '(stdU,stdV,stdW,Lux,Luy,Luz)?
Would you please tell me how to get this parameters?. Thank you!

Hi,

Short answer: Yes, you need to modify stdU,stdV,stdW,Lux,Luy,Luz

Long answer: As specified in the text file, the variables stdU,stdV,stdW,Lux,Luy,Luz are only used with the von Karman spectrum. Therefore, in that particular case, changing the mean wind speed profile will not affect the turbulence. If you do not know much about these parameters, you can use (1) the log profile and (2) The Kaimal spectrum. In that case, turbulence is governed by the surface roughness z0 only, u_star.
