About the team
James Ray founded Drops of Diamond. He has been involved with the Ethereum ecosystem since January 2017, mostly from a core development focus. He applied for a grant back in January after the Ethereum blog post announcing scalability grants. His timesheet of day-to-day work with research and development with Drops of Diamond is available here, while a timesheet for previous Ethereum work (before the first timesheet was started) is available here. However, it took him a while to actually get started on development, first looking into doing a few different implementations such as Javascript, before starting work on an SMC in Rust, then Vyper, while reviewing others' code in Rust. A lot of his time has been spent on reading and reviewing research (since Drops of Diamond it has pretty much all been sharding related), so the pace of his development is slower than what he would like, but he feels that it is important to keep up with research, and perhaps help to shape it. He finished working in the renewable energy industry on January 31 2018, and has since been involved full-time with Drops of Diamond doing R&D.
Josiah (@ChosunOne) joined in late March, followed by Luke Schoen (@ltfschoen) shortly after in early April. Josiah works full-time at Glosfer (in order to stay in Korea to get visa sponsorship) since May 8, while he left his previous full-time job shortly after joining. Luke has been involved with the blockchain and software industries for years, for details, see his LinkedIn profile.
Tim Siwula (@tcsiwula) has also contributed.
Contributors are encouraged to keep a record of your work in a timesheet, it will help as evidence for backpayments if we get revenue such as from a grant. You can James's timesheet as a template if you wish.
